Participation Conditions at Technicon Design Academy

Conditions to participate in training courses at Technicon Design GmbH and Technicon Design Academy for programmes supported by the Federal Employment Agency.

1. Conditions to participate

Individual requirements have to be fulfilled to take part in our training courses. The current course profiles and a description of the necessary prerequisites can be found on the Internet at www.technicondesign.com\academy. Participants have to check if their personal qualifications meet the requirements. The level of qualification will additionally be tested in an interview with the administration of Technicon Design Academy.

2. Application

After successful registration in the Technicon Design Academy’s course planner at www.technicondesign.com\academy or in the course net of the Employment Agency, an advance reservation is made. We will notify registered participants immediately and contact them within three working days. Applications for courses at Technicon Design Academy can only be accepted in written form. By sending a written application the participant acknowledges the conditions to participate. Requests for individual time schedules are possible, but need to be approved by Technicon Design Academy. The term of application ends two weeks before the beginning of the course. Late applications will be considered, as long as there is still a vacancy on the course.

Two weeks prior to the course, we will send a letter of confirmation to all participants, as well as the course schedule and an area map including hotels in the surrounding area. If participants do not receive these documents in sufficient time, they should contact the company’s administration. Technicon Design Academy assumes no responsibility for documents that are not delivered. A tutor on site can hand out photocopies.

3. Fees and Payment

3.1 Participation fees are regulated in the scale of fees that is effective during the course period. In case of supported further education programmes, the supporting organisation will receive the invoice and has to agree to the the payment conditions.

Fees for training courses that take place in foreign countries are subject to local tax regulations. Course fees include any relevant course material as well as refreshments (tea, coffee and water), unless otherwise noted in the letter of confirmation.

3.2. Participation fees have to be paid in advance of the course or within 14 days after the invoice date. As a principle, the participant remains the main debtor, irrespective of agreements with a third party.

3.3 If a participant cancels the contract 15 or more working days before the beginning of the course, a service charge of 20% of the course fees will be applied. If a participant cancels within 15 working days before the course or is absent at course beginning, the complete course fees will be charged. An interruption of a course does not release the participant from course charges. If a participant is kept from participating by circumstances he has no influence on (e.g. illness, accident –if verification has to be provided), only the proportionate fees for the hours attended have to be paid.

Technicon Design Academy reserves the right to change times or venues or to reschedule or cancel courses, if necessary. Participants will then be informed immediately. In case of a cancellation by Technicon Design Academy, course fees will be refunded completely. In case of changes, the participant can switch to other courses available.

3.4 Participants, who have applied for supported programmes in accordance to SGB III and can prove that their application was denied, are given a feeless right of rescission. Support is associated with the obligation to actively look for jobs.

3.5 Participation in a professional education programme that is supported by the Employment Agency and lasts for more than four weeks cannot be cancelled before the end of those four weeks. Afterwards it can be cancelled with a two weeks notice.

 4. Arrival

Participants are responsible for travelling to the course venue. Technicon Design Academy assumes no responsibility for refunding travel expenses in case of a change in venues or course times or in case of a cancellation of the course.

5. Company Regulations

Participants have to acknowledge and follow the Technicon Design Academy’s company regulations and to abide by training staff orders. Violations can lead to the expulsion of the participant from the course.

6. Schedule for training courses and breaks

Generally, training courses in supported full-time programmes take place between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. Regular breaks are scheduled from 10:30 am until 10:45 am, from 12:15 pm until 12:45 pm, from 2:15 pm until 2:30 pm and from 4:00 pm until 4:15 pm. Changes will be announced individually.

7. Cancellation of courses

If Technicon Design Academy is unable to conduct courses due to events it has no influence on, no right for rescheduling will be granted. We will try to inform participants of a cancellation about 14 days before the beginning of the course. If an announced course has to be cancelled due to low numbers of participants or other important reasons, special claims for compensation are excluded. Paid fees will be refunded.

8. Certificates and course material

Certificates of participation remain property of Technicon Design Academy until fees have completely been paid. After we receive payment, we will send the certificates to the customer or the person or organisation that has paid the fees.

Participants have to complete the Autodesk “Online Training Evaluation Form” (demanded for by Autodesk Inc.) in order to receive certificates. Details are included in the course material.

Course material is handed out to all participants at the beginning of a course. Any material published by Technicon Design Academy is registered by copyright and must not be photocopied or duplicated.

9. Place of fulfilment and jurisdiction

German law governs the contract. The place of fulfilment and place of jurisdiction is Rüsselsheim, Germany.

10. Dress code

There is no dress code. However, clothes should be clean and appropriate.

11. Uncertainties during course participation

If there are uncertainties about any objectives or tasks or if devices are not working properly, course participants should inform the tutor immediately. Otherwise, it is assumed that all course participants are able to follow the lessons and work with the equipment. Tutors will then pursue the scheduled course level.
